E-Tailer's Digest Member Survey

December 1998

In December, 1998 we polled our list members in order to improve the list.  We received responses from 6.5% of our total membership. Thank you all for your responses, and your help. We will be making changes to the digest in accordance with your wishes. Our thanks to market researcher extraordinaire Phil Glowatz and survey guru Jose Camilo Daccach T. for their help in developing this survey.

We computed some information on our members based on responses, and find an average member comes from the U.S. is 42.8 years old, has 15.5 years of schooling, spends 2 hours and 42 minutes a day on the Net, has been online for 2 1/2 years and receives an average of 56.5 e-mail messages a day.

The overwhelming response was that you don't like the format, yet most understood why we have this format -- to stimulate conversation. However, you did offer some solutions on how to accomplish both -- which we shall incorporate.

The answers are posted below. We sorted them in high-to-low sequence. The percentage is a percent of the total for that group. Some answers allowed multiple answers.
